There are many technical explanations about what FitMesh Technology is all over the internet.  But for most of us who are buying clothes in Secondlife,  wearing one of the many mesh bodies, heads and now Bento body parts. We require FitMesh Technology, we really only need to know what it is in layman’s terms so we can make the correct type and best informed buying decisions.

Historically when creators made a mesh item it was ‘rigged’ or what we would know as ‘solid’.   This means it fixed to your body,  was inflexible looking, very rigid and required you to wear an alpha layer.  So when you moved and walked your body underneath didn’t pop through. This also meant that whilst wearing an item,  your actual shape underneath it was masked by the shape of the item you were wearing.

Creators now have access to the body skeletons,  and bone structures that the mesh body creators use when creating the actual bodies.  So they can, therefore, use far more anchor points – effectively when they are creating they can tell the item to stretch like a second skin at the previously problematic areas like the breasts, butt, arms, thigh’s etc.

The item now fits very snugly on top of your body shape, molding it tightly almost like a second skin, allowing it to react with your shape as you move.  FitMesh Technology items will not have the old gaping at the edges your old rigged mesh had,  the straps will usually sit nicely on your skin looking more natural.  Effectively it’s ‘fitting your body properly and not just sitting over it.

It is important to mention here that each mesh body maker uses a different template to make their body.  So every FitMesh item will be constructed using a different set of anchor points,  therefore one made for Maitreya’s Lara won't work on the Belleza Venus body so make sure you look for the appropriate logo for your Mesh body.

Finally, even with this amazing technology some ‘poking’ will happen so you may still find you have to use your alpha huds to tweak small troublesome areas, especially if you have high body fat area or have your shape sliders on max in some obvious areas

so DEMO DEMO DEMO!
